This article basically describes natural and artificial selection, using dog breeding as an example of artificial selection. But what about the delterious artificial selection that humans have fostered, such as antibiotic resistant bacteria like Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)? (This thought is probably going to mature into an article in the near future...)

By overuse of antibiotics we have inadvertantly selected for some super-bacterial pathogens that we are now struggling to control.

Any other examples of artificial selection gone bad come to mind?

Influenza, HIV, and Tuberculosis are all included in that right now. There is an emergence of drug resistant Tb now making its way through the population, partially due to HIV patients and their treatments - treatments which are gradually becoming less reliable for new patients. The flu is showing more drug resistance this year as well (I wrote about that) to another drug that treats the most common strains.
